What is your spirit animal?

By

Miss Kat J Phillips

This is a fascinating question to me because in my life, the people I have met, they all have a different spirit animal.  Not just a different version of animal but completely different.

My spirit animal is any variety of cat.  A leopard, lion, cheetah, domestic or exotic. Black domestic short hair cats are my absolute familiar!

Cats are guardians of the Underworld and that is where I draw much of my poetry from.  My first 18 years were very dark and difficult.  I believe I am closer to Hades than Zeus, which I don’t mind because Hades knows how to party and Zeus is too formal with his grapes, cheeses, and ambrosia.

Animals in general tend to be drawn to me.  Wild rabbits, birds, squirrels, deer, and others from the forests and around my yard have no trouble coming up to me. The most recent was a baby bunny that kept hopping closer and closer to me.  There was also a blue bird that sat still while I approached to take a picture and didn’t fly off after the snap.

I believe the abuse I endured as a child is felt by the animals and they can sense that I know what it is like to hurt.  Therefore, they KNOW I would never hurt them in any way. These animals bring me joy and I look around whenever I am outdoors for a little critter on the ground or a bird to sing with in a tree.

Please comment below and tell me about your spirit animal!!!
