What am I good at?

Miss Kat J Phillips

The blog page is asking me to share five things I’m good at.

Writing poetry and blogs are two of my best I believe. I started writing poetry when i was 10 and had a poem published at 13. I’ve never stopped writing. I journal when the mood strikes me. I collect journals and many people know this. My collection is full of beauty. I also collect books of various genres.

I’m also good at being blunt. Don’t ask me a question unless you want brutal honesty of my opinion. The good news… I see situations from more sides than a cube. Infinite answers I quandary before telling you my opinion. Thus, the brutal honesty. You get several suggestions, questions, and inspections. My hope is that our conversations leave you with a new sense of self.

Fourth, I’m told I’m wonderful and open-hearted when I listen. I listen without prejudice or preconceived notions. I listen actively and ask verifying questions. When I am asked to just listen, that is what I do until asked otherwise. I’ve been a mental health patient, volunteer, mentor, group leader and advocate for almost 30 years. I’ve been through every situation I think.

Finally, I am like Santa Clause when around children. They have to talk to me. Say hello, tell me their favorite things, and share a secret or two. I am an excellent babysitter. Mostly because I DO NOT SIT! I play games, color, crafts, read books πŸ“š AND acting out the characters. I love children just as much as they love me! I crouch down to their level and talk face to face. I try to not “tower” over a child. Besides… it’s more fun in their world than the grown up world.

Scroll pass the ads to the comments and tell me your five! πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸ€ŸπŸ₯°πŸ€
