Pain brings you to Life!

By

Miss Kat J Phillips
Maya Angelou…she lived her pain so I could learn to live mine. And so I thank her now!

….Or another way to say it… Pain brings you back into life! Negativity and pain are two different things! People are the key to the pain in my life but they keep me alive! Not just friends and family but new people too! Strangers bring new energy into my life! Letting new people in is hard and it’s painful but I need it! That new energy! Those new ideas and views of the world. I love it and appreciate it…the hurt; because I know on the other side of the pain is the greatness! The poetry and prose I write comes out of these encounters. The people, the pain, the life I lead takes me to the “road less traveled!”(©Robert Frost) On these roads I find my words that pour from my soul. Even now, I write from the deepest aching part of my being so you will understand what it is to be a writer & poet. Poets live pain so that others may read their words and be moved. To change. To evolve. To see the world in a new way! Even a happy poem can come from pain. And so my life goes on and YOU the reader…get to enjoy this moment! Blog © 2019 Kat J Phillips

Delicate flower,

  Hold your head high,

    Remember what I said,

Do not let life pass you by.

Delicate flower,

  Raise up your arms,

    Remember what I said,

And to you, will come no harm.

Delicate flower,

  Keep your feet light,

    Remember what I said,

A fire inside you, the spirits did ignite.

Delicate flower you are strong,

  Stand your ground,

    Remember what I said,

Your soul will be free and unbound.

Delicate flower you are strong,

  Keep in your heart

Remember what I said,

We will never be apart
